The MS Coed 2025 Season will start in March. Students 6th grade through 8th grade are eligible. Students in 5th grade are considered on case by case basis. We are actively recruiting players of all shapes and sizes. No previous rugby experience needed. Our coaches will teach your child/children everything they need to know!

Practice Information

Practices are typically twice a week for 90-120 minutes.

Players should bring athletic wear, a mouth guard, and running shoes (no cleats).

4th-5th Grade Non-Competitive Tackle Option

This option is for girls and boys who want to practice tackle rugby with the middle school coed team (March-June) but may not be ready for full competition. It’s a great way for players to ease into tackle rugby and gain the skills needed for the next level. The 2025 middle school rugby season begins in March. Players who want to register for this option should register with our middle school team under the "4th-5th Grade Non-Competitive Tackle Option."

Fees/Dues

Middle school rugby in Fargo-Moorhead is $80 for the Spring Season. We want to share high-quality rugby with as many children as possible. RRYR has been able to keep middle school rugby registration cost-low.  We are able to keep costs low thanks to our amazing sponsors, donations from our supporters, and fundraisers like our annual Heggies Pizza sale, FARGODOME Concessions, and other opportunities. 

About Red River Youth Rugby 

Red River Youth (RRYR) was created in April 2019 by members of the local adult & college rugby community with the goal of sharing the game of rugby with the children & teens of Fargo-Moorhead. To date, RRYR has hosted several successful youth day camps and in the Fall of 2020 a touch rugby series. The ultimate goal of FMYR is to establish a competitive Middle & High School team(s) in Fargo-Moorhead.
